Turn Age 65 or 70

If You Turn Age 65
Here's what you need to do:
-
Medical Benefits. Once you or a dependent becomes
eligible for Medicare, whether or not your Valassis plan will continue
to be your primary medical coverage while you are an active Valassis
associate depends on the medical plan in which you are enrolled.
Please contact the customer service number on your medical identification
card to determine which plan will be primary.
-
Social Security. About three months before your
65th birthday, contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213
to find out about Social Security and Medicare benefits.
-
Retirement Savings Plans. Participation continues
without any changes. As long as you remain an active associate,
you are not required to begin receiving payments.
- Valassis Direct Mail and Sales & Marketing associates
paid through PeopleSoft Frozen and/or Discontinued Retirement Plans.
Valassis Direct Mail and Sales & Marketing associates
paid through PeopleSoft who participate/d in a frozen or discontinued
retirement plan may be eligible for a benefit. Please contact Corporate
Benefits at 1-860-285-6100 if you participate/d in a frozen plan or
