529 College Savings Plan (Valassis Direct Mail and Sales & Marketing associates paid through PeopleSoft)

We want to help you save for your and your family's future. One of the biggest worries many of you are facing is how to pay for your child's education. Valassis continues to offer you the opportunity to save for your child's education through CollegeBoundfund, a flexible, tax-advantaged 529 college savings program managed by Alliance Capital. You may contribute up to $246,000.

Benefits of a 529 College Savings Plan
Here are a few of the many benefits that CollegeBoundfund offers:

  • Tax-free earnings growth. There is no federal income tax due on earnings while they are in your CollegeBoundfund account.

  • Tax-free distributions. Distributions for qualified education expenses (which may vary by state) are federal income tax free.*

  • Class A Shares at NAV. And, because you are an associate, you pay no initial sales charge for making an investment in CollegeBoundfund.

  • Choice of colleges and universities. Your CollegeBoundfund assets can be used at any accredited insititution of higher learning in the U.S., as well as at many foreign insititutions.

  • No income limits. There are no income limits restricting who is eligible to participate.

  • Investment choice. Choose from a variety of investment options managed by Alliance Capital--one of the world's leading investment managers.

  • High contribution limit. You can contribute to your CollegeBoundfund account until the total account value equals $287,070 (contributions and earnings).

    * The tax exemption for earnings on qualified withdrawals is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2010, unless extended by Congress. As with all tax-related decisions, contact your tax advisor.

Contact the Associate Resource Center to find out more information and to pick up an enrollment kit - or - set up an account by logging on to www.corporate.collegeboundfund.com

  • Select "Company" as your ID Type
  • Enter the following User ID and Password:
    • User ID: ADVO Password: ADVO
  • You will be prompted to enter a personal User ID and Password, which you will use during subsequent visits to the site.
  • Click on "Open Account/Enrollment" and follow the instructions. Be sure to ease take time to review the CollegeBoundfund Program Description.
Once you have completed the online enrollment process, print and sign two copies of the Enrollment Confirmation. Please keep one copy of the Enrollment Confirmation for your records, and return the other as well as your voided check or pre-printed deposit slip to CollegeBoundfund. A postage-paid envelope is provided in the enrollment kit through Human Resources - or you can mail directly to: Employee Payroll Direct Deposit Program, College Bound Fund, P.O. Box 786008, San Antonio, TX 78278-9923.You may obtain a program description by contacting Alliance Capital directly at (888) 324-5057.
