| DISABILITY |
 |
|
In the event you become disabled and are unable to work due to a non-work
related injury or illness, the Valassis Short and Long Term disability
plans are designed to continue a portion of your income while you are
disabled.
- Short Term Disability (STD) benefits pay a percentage of
your weekly pay for qualified disabling illness or injuries that last
between two and 26 weeks. You must be unable to perform the essential
functions of your job. Your benefits will begin as of the 15th day
of your disability.
- Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits also pay a percentage
of your pay, but on a monthly basis. In the event your disabling condition
lasts longer than 6 months, LTD coverage picks up when STD benefits
end.
