DISABILITY
Eligibility & Enrollment

Eligibility
If you are an active full-time associate scheduled to work at least 37.5 hours per week, you are eligible for STD and LTD coverage on the 1st of the month after 30 calendar days of continuous service following your date of hire. If you are subject to a collective bargaining unit agreement, refer to the agreement.

Enrollment
If you are eligible for coverage, you are automatically enrolled in the Valassis Disability Plan.

When Coverage Begins
Your disability coverage automatically begins on your eligibility date. If you are not actively at work on that date, your coverage will take effect on the day you return to active work. If you become an eligible associate because your scheduled work hours increase to 37.5 or more per week, your coverage begins on the effective date of your change in scheduled hours.

Definition of Base Pay
Pay is defined as base pay (excluding overtime and bonuses). For sales associates, pay is defined as base pay plus the average of the last two full years commissions (and/or sales bonuses). An increase in your covered earnings will not be effective during a period of continuous disability.
